Local Beers & Ciders
Tenbury Wells is known as the Town in the Orchard and is surrounded by unspoilt countryside. Cider apples and hops are grown in abundance in the area and as a result we are fortunate to be able to stock a range of excellently produced local beers and ciders on draft.
From hobsons brewery in Cleobury Mortimer (just 9 miles away) we stock Twisted Spire 3.6%abv described as a “vibrant blonde beer” with a “refreshing burst of hop flavour which lingers though to a crisp dry finish”. …. And their original beer - Best Bitter 3.8%abv a pale brown to amber medium bodied beer that has a strong hop character.
From the Ludlow Brewery just over 10 miles away from us here at the Fountain we can offer customers the popular Boiling Well 4.7%abv. As well as using hops from a farm just outside of Tenbury the Boiling Well gets its malty flavour and darker colour from the addition of crystal malt in the brewing process.
We are pleased to stock Robinsons Flagon Cider 4.5%abv a very locally produced Cider that is extremely popular with our regulars and only available locally. Robinsons Flagon Cider is not a Commercial Brand - best served cool but not chilled; it is gently sparkling, with only half the "gassiness" of the mass produced brands and it is slightly hazy. It also has the wonderful apple flavour that is and always has been the hallmark of Robinsons Cider.
We also have Westons Cider Ice from Much Marcle in Herefordshire for those that would like to try something a little bit different. Advertised as the coolest new Cider on the bar, Westons premium Cider with Cider Ice is a refreshing, contemporary carbonated cider topped with Cider ICE. Together on draught with the Westons Premium Cider is Cider ICE - NO added water, just PURE Cider ICE. Featuring a unique dispense your pint consists of 2/3rd's Premium Cider which is poured first, followed by the last third of pure Cider ICE.
